As of Wednesday 15 March 2007, all migrants entering Holland from Thailand must have a certain knowledge of Dutch language and of Dutch society in order to settle in Holland. All Thai migrants aged 16 to 65 years old have to take the Civic Integration Examination Abroad in order to obtain an Autohorisation for Temporary Stay (MVV) at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok.
The examination comprises of basic knowledge of the Dutch language and basic knowledge of Dutch society. Both parts of the examination are conducted by means of a telephone connection with an automatic system. The examinations are administered at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok. The examination consists of two parts.
This part of the examination tests the candidates level of knowledge of Dutch society. Candidiates are shown a picture book (the picture book is contained in the examination package "Naar Nederland"). The picture book contains 100 images from the film "Coming to the Netherlands". There is a question about each photograph. Part 1 of the examination consists of 2 sample questions and 30 questions from the picture book.
This part of the examination tests the candidates knowledge of the Dutch language. They will judge the candidates on their pronunciation, fluency, sentence structure and vocabulary. In this part of the examination the candidate will have to:

It is recommended that the candidate purchases the examination package; "naar Nederland". It can be ordered or bought at bookstores in Holland or at online book stores. The examination package consists of the following items:
Our Dutch teacher, Richard van der Kieft, prepares candidates for the Civic Integration Examination Abroad using specialised language materials, some of which are in Thai. Our lessons and study materials are designed to make your study as easy as possible. Our teacher is Dutch and is a native speaker. All his students passed the first time they took the examination.
Before the course starts the students have an opportunity to meet the teacher. The teacher will explain the course in more detail, demonstrate the books and other study materials and answer any questions you may have.
In order to optimally prepare for the Civic Integration Examination Abroad, the student has the opportunity to study 2 hours a day for 5 days a week; the course will take 2 months to complete. Another possibility is 2 hours and 40 minutes a day for 5 days a week; the course will take 6 weeks to complete. Further lessons can be arranged if necessary.
The course fees are 575 Euro.
The payment can be transferred to a Dutch bank account number or to a Thai account number.
